For the past twelve summers, I have been conducting a conference on MTSS, Milti-Tiered System of Support. I am excited to announce that, due to popular demand, I will be holding another institute June 12th-14th, 2017 in Bloomington, MN. The content has been updated to focus on current research in educational practices and the federal government’s movement towards supporting states in implementing a Multi-Tiered System of Support.
The purpose of the summer institute will be to train teams from your buildings on best practices in implementing and evaluating core (all students), supplemental (some students), and intensive (few students) instructional programs. We have added content on aligning reading and math standards with instructional practices along with significant content on research-based strategies for improving academic achievement. Similar to previous years, time will be built into the conference for reflection and analysis of current building and district needs along with evaluation of implementation efforts.
At the end of the 3-day institute, it is my hope that your teams will leave with the tools they need to implement change in your building or district. We strongly encourage you to consider sending teams that have balanced representation between regular and special education along with a building administrator.
The brochure describes the institute in more detail and will
inform you of registration procedures. If you have any questions, feel
free to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org This event sold out quickly
last year, so register early!
