For the past fourteen summers, I have been conducting a summer institute on the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework. I am excited to announce that, due to popular demand, I will be holding another institute June 17th-19th, 2019 in Bloomington, MN. This summer institute provides a mechanism for building leadership teams to learn about what full implementation looks like, assess their building needs, and develop an action-plan for continual improvement. The content has been updated to focus on the latest research in educational practices and system improvement with a focus on fidelity of implementation.
The purpose of the summer institute will be to train teams from your buildings on best practices in implementing and evaluating core (all students), supplemental (some students), and intensive (few students) instructional programs. We have added content on equity, social-emotional, reading and math practices, selecting interventions, along with the latest research-based strategies for improving academic achievement. Similar to previous years, time will be built into the conference for reflection and analysis of current building and district needs along with evaluation of implementation efforts.
At the end of the 3-day institute, it is my hope that your teams will leave with the tools they need to implement change in your building or district. We strongly encourage you to consider sending teams that have balanced representation between regular and special education along with a building administrator.
